The Killamazoo Derby Darlins, ranked #21 in the North Central region, won handily over the unranked Circle City Derby Girls’ Socialites squad in Fishers, Ind. Nimble backward blocking, hard and persistent hitting and smart assists helped Killamazoo shoot to an early lead and build on it for a final win of 311-51.

Killamazoo jammer Rosie Ferocious set the tone from the first jam by bursting through the pack within seconds to become lead jammer. This would become a familiar pattern, as Killamazoo jammers easily swept through thanks in large part to strategic assists from heavy hitters like Goin’ Commando and Javelin (who ultimately shared the “Best Player” award at the end of the bout). By the seventh jam, the score was 41-0, Killamazoo. A nine-point power jam for Circle City’s Liberty Spykes finally put points on the board for CCDG, and later, her fellow jammers Vivi Section, Roll-R Damage, and Cassie Khaos would add a few of their own. But even powerhouse hits from CCDG blocker Spleana Rupture couldn’t put much of a dent in the speed worked up by Killamazoo jammers like Aly-Kate Contusions and Charisnakov, and by halftime, the score was 156-27, Killamazoo.

Standout blocking on the Killamazoo side included both hard hits and nimble positional work from Goin’ Commando, agile backward blocking from Terrorhawk and Javelin, and effective moves from Miss B. Haven. Final score: 311-51, Killamazoo Derby Darlins.
